Awarded an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2012, violinist Benjamin Beilman also holds the London Music Masters Award through 2015, which led to his recent London debut at Wigmore Hall and will give several performances with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Of his first-prize performance at the Montreal International Musical Competition in 2010, Musical America observed, “20 year-old Benjamin Beilman made a striking impression . . . his sound was characterful, his preparation impeccable and he played with both eloquence and flair.” Montreal’s own Le Devoir raved, “From his first statement in the quarterfinals, Beilman displayed the spark that distinguishes great artists.” That same year, he won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions and was awarded its Helen Armstrong Violin Fellowship. Called “a huge, up-and-coming talent” by composer Jennifer Higdon, Beilman has also been praised by The Strad for his “imaginative touches and exquisite control.
