This Policy describes how Ravinia Festival Association (“Ravinia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information that you submit to us and that we collect. This includes information collected through our website (Ravinia.org), at the Ravinia park and events, when you connect to the Ravinia Wi-Fi network, or anywhere else that this Policy is posted.

We collect information from and about you.

We collect identifying information. For example, we may collect your name, mailing address, phone number, or email address if you provide it to us.

We collect payment information. For example, we collect credit card or other payment information to process purchases or donations.

We collect photos and videos. For example, we collect photos and videos, including voices, of attendees at the Ravinia park and events. This includes security footage.

We collect general location information. We may collect information about your general location, including when you connect to our Wi-Fi or fill out a survey. We also gather this information using your zip code or IP address.

We collect information you submit. We collect any content you submit or make available when you use our site and services. For example, we collect any message you submit with your contact information when you contact us or make a donation.

We collect other usage, device, and browser information. If you use our website or our Wi-Fi, we may collect information about your interactions, including browser type, device information, device identifiers, Internet Protocol (IP) address, MAC address, and operating system you’re using. We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. We may see general information about your location and demographics. We may collect information from your devices if they connect to, or are detected by, the Wi-Fi networks at our properties. We may also collect information about how you interact with our website, including the pages you visit, and the content you view. We collect this information using the tracking tools described here and elsewhere in this Policy. To control those tools, please read the “You have certain choices” section below.

We collect information in different ways.

We collect information directly from you. For example, if you contact us, visit our park, attend our events, participate in a promotion, or provide information through our site.

We collect information from you and your devices passively. We use tracking tools like browser cookies and web beacons that collect information when you interact with our websites. We use certain tools that collect information when you connect to or are detected by our Wi-Fi network. We collect information about users over time when you interact with us. We may have third parties collect information this way. Learn more about these tools and how you can control them in the “You have certain choices” section below.

We may get information about you from third parties. For example, our vendors, business partners, and other non-profit organizations may give us information about you. Social media platforms may also give us information about you.

We combine information. We may combine information collected online with information collected offline. We may combine information that we get from another party with information we already have. We may also aggregate your information with other users’ information to understand preferences and trends over time.

We use information to communicate with you. For example, we might use your information to respond to your requests or feedback. We may communicate with you about our relationship, including offerings or services you are interested in or that we’ve agreed to provide. We may contact you about this Privacy Policy or our Terms.

We use information as otherwise permitted by law or as we may notify you. We may use de-identified or aggregated data for any purpose, unless prohibited by law.

We may share information.

We will share information with vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf. For example, we will share information with vendors who send emails for us or help us process payments. We may also share information with companies that help us operate our websites, our online services, our park, and our events.

We will share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We might share information when we are investigating potential fraud. This might include fraud we think has happened during a sweepstakes or promotion. If you are a winner of a promotion, we may share your information as part of a winner’s list.

We may share information with advertising partners and other non-profits for their marketing purposes. We may share names and contact information, including email addresses, with other non-profit organizations for their marketing purposes. We may also share information with third-party advertising partners through tracking tools on our websites. We may also share email addresses or other contact information with third-party partners so they can serve our advertising on their platform. These third-party partners include social media platforms, analytics companies, data brokers, and third-party advertisers. Personal information received by these companies may also be subject to their privacy policies. These third parties may also share your information with others. These third parties may use the information for their own marketing purposes or the marketing purposes of others. This may include the delivery of targeted advertising.

We may share information with any successor to all or part of our operations. For example, if all or part of our business is sold or transferred to another organization or entity, then we may share information about our customers and contacts as part of that transaction.

We may share information for other reasons we may describe to you, with your consent, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. We may share de-identified or aggregated data for any purpose, unless prohibited by law.

You have certain choices.

You can opt out of our marketing emails. Just follow the instructions to “unsubscribe” in marketing emails you may receive from us. We will still send you transactional communications. These include responses to your requests or questions.

You can make certain requests. You (or your authorized agent) can send us requests to access, correct, delete, or update personal information. You can ask us not to share your contact information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. You can make any of these requests by contacting Ravinia at privacy@ravinia.org.

We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request and verify your identity by email. If you have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf, we may still verify your identity and their authority to submit a request for you. For deletion requests, please note that your information may not be deleted in its entirety from our systems, and some information may be kept to comply with legal exceptions or obligations. We may also keep an archived copy of your records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

You can control certain cookies and tracking tools. Below, we’ve described various ways you can control or delete cookies.

If you block or reject cookies and tracking tools, certain features on our website may not work, and not all of the tracking described in this Policy will stop. You can also turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionalities on your mobile device. Certain options you select are browser- and device-specific, and are deleted whenever you clear your browser’s cache. Our Do Not Track policy: Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. We do not currently respond to all of those signals.

These sites are not intended for children.

Our site and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without permission from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child under 18 has given us information, you can email us at privacy@ravinia.org. Please mark your inquiries “Child’s Information Request.”

We use standard security measures.

The Internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our site will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using the Internet. This includes not sharing your passwords.

We may link to other sites, apps, or services on our Site that we don’t control.

If you click on a third-party link, you will be taken to a third-party site, app, service, or platform we do not control. This Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of that third party. Read other companies’ privacy policies carefully. We are not responsible for these third parties.
