The Negaunee Foundation Porch (at Tree Top)

The Porch at Tree Top provides a beautiful space overlooking the North Lawn for your group to enjoy dinner, drinks, and your Ravinia concert of choice - up close and personal with the artists with a live feed of the Pavilion stage on overhead screens. The skylights of the Porch’s roof blur the division between indoor and outdoor, giving your elevated party a charming ambiance.

Lawn Space

Experience one of Ravinia’s core traditions - the Lawn! Let us provide your picnic while you enjoy a semi-private space on the North Lawn. Lawn space is available along the Bernbaum Sculpture Walk and designated by a border of rental chairs, included in your space rental pricing.

Does my event need to be directly pre-concert during a time that the park is open, or can I plan an earlier daytime event? 

In order to prioritize the core functions of our spaces, Ravinia is only able to host events during park opening hours in the summer months. 

Are there concerts for which I am not able to host an event?

Yes, Ravinia does not offer private events for daytime Steans Institute shows or any Kids Concert Series performances. However, the remaining concerts are available for booking, pending availability. Please click here to browse our season schedule

How far in advance do I need to plan my event? 

While we love to plan ahead, we are unable to guarantee space to groups further than a year in advance of the event date. We also ask that you book your space no less than one month prior to your event date. Your final guaranteed headcount will be due 14 days prior to your event date. 

I’m planning a private event during the Ravinia summer season. Do I still need to purchase tickets for the show?

Yes, tickets are required for all guests to enter the park. Your tickets will be arranged as a part of the event booking process. 

When does my event begin? How long am I able to remain in my event space?

You are welcome to arrive as soon as the gates to the park open. Your space is exclusive to your group for the duration of the concert until the park closes. Many groups opt to purchase General Admission Lawn tickets and enjoy the concert from their event space. Please determine your preferred timeline with your caterer. Our food packages are priced out for a maximum of two hours of service due to food safety guidelines. Our drink packages are by default available for three hours, with the opportunity to extend your package all the way up until 30 minutes prior to the end of the performance. 

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

While Ravinia is well-known for our BYOB policies in the park, if you choose to plan a catered event in one of our covered event spaces, we ask that you do not bring your own food or drinks. If your event is on the lawn, and as long as you meet your Food & Beverage minimum, you are able to provide your own alcohol for a $10 per person corkage fee, with purchase of the Non-alcoholic Drink Package. In compliance with our liquor license, staff is not able to handle any alcoholic beverages purchased outside the park. If your event is in a covered space, no outside drinks are allowed.

Can I work with my own caterer?

No, Ravinia’s onsite caterer is Levy Restaurants. 

Is parking included in these packages?

No, parking is not available in advance and must be purchased day-of. Parking is $25 per car. Click here for more information on parking at Ravinia.

If I am planning a catered Lawn party, can I bring my own chairs? 

We will set up rental chairs around the perimeter of your space; this will help to cordon off your section of the lawn. We also include small size tables for your party. Your food and bar will be set up on larger tables and those are fully included in the catering fee.

If I am planning a catered Lawn party, can I rope off my section?

Ravinia has policies regarding what can be brought into the park and onto the lawn, including stanchions and anything that needs to be staked into the ground. We do block off your section as best as possible, but it's helpful if someone from your party arrives early to be in the space as the park opens. 

What happens if it rains?

Most of our rental spaces are covered and provide protection from rain. Ravinia is a rain-or-shine venue, and we are unable to guarantee indoor space to parties in the event of a rainy day.


Book Your Event Today

Event spaces subject to availability. Food and beverage minimums listed are pre-tax amounts. All guests must have a ticket to enter the park.

All food, beverage and related items are subject to a 21% service charge plus applicable sales tax. Additional payment for tips or gratuity for service, if any, is voluntary and at your discretion. Additional service and set up fees will apply.

There is a $150 fee per bartender and one bartender per 50 guests is required.

25% of your Food & Beverage minimum must be remitted at the time of contract agreement. A final guaranteed number is required 14 business days prior to your event. Full payment is due 7 business days prior to your event.

We can put a soft hold on dates for your convenience for up to two weeks, but to fully book your event, you must remit payment for your space rental, tickets, and any Audio/Visual add-ons.
