About the Performance
Train—led by frontman Pat Monahan—is a multi-GRAMMY Award-winning, diamond-selling band whose hits “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister” helped define the sound of the 2000s. Hailing from San Francisco, Train has landed 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 and 13 albums on the Billboard 200, solidifying their place in pop-rock history.
Their rise began in 1994, when the original five-member band built a loyal hometown following, leading to their 1998 self-titled debut album. “Meet Virginia” became their first breakout hit, but it was 2001’s “Drops of Jupiter” that launched them to multi-platinum success, earning the GRAMMY for Best Rock Song. A decade later, they struck gold again with Save Me, San Francisco (2009), featuring the global smash “Hey, Soul Sister”—a song that topped charts worldwide and surpassed one billion Spotify streams in 2022.
This summer, Train is joined by special guest Edwin McCain for his Ravinia debut! Dubbed a “street corner prophet” (USA Today) and “the great American romantic” (The New York Times), McCain is the voice behind two of the most beloved love songs of the 90s: “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More.”
From soaring anthems to heartfelt love songs, Train and Edwin McCain bring an evening of music that will have you singing, swaying, and celebrating all night long.
