About the Performance
This summer, Weird Al brings his legendary full-production multimedia comedy rock show back to the Ravinia stage with the Bigger & Weirder Tour, playing his iconic hits as well as some never-performed-live-before fan favorites. Al’s longtime band is joined by four additional players to create a super-sized concert experience.
“Weird Al” Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history. A five-time Grammy Award winner, he is best known for his parodies of the biggest musical artists over the last four decades. His many hits include “Amish Paradise,” “Eat It,” “Like a Surgeon,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Word Crimes,” and the platinum-selling “White & Nerdy.” His last album, Mandatory Fun, is the only comedy album in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Weird Al’s live shows have entertained audiences across the globe for generations. In 2022, Yankovic produced and co-wrote the Emmy-winning biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, starring Daniel Radcliffe in the title role.
Weird Al is joined by Puddles Pity Party, a 6'5" clown with a booming operatic bass making his Ravinia debut! Originally from River City before kicking around Atlanta, the sulking serenader gained momentum after hitting the road as guest performer on the 2010 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live tour and 2013 Eels tour and making special appearances at Seattle’s Teatro ZinZanni and NYC’s Sleep No More.
In 2013, Puddles collaborated with Postmodern Jukebox to record an epic version of Lorde’s hit song “Royals,” which instantly went viral on YouTube, having received over 34 million views so far. Puddles has also been seen on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent and most recently on AGT’s The Champions 2020. The “sad clown with the golden voice” has captivated audiences and media from around the world, building a fan base of more than 495,000 on Facebook and nearly 900,000 subscribers to the Puddles Pity Party YouTube channel. As the Boston Globe writes, “It seems like a parody. But when Puddles opens his mouth to sing, it’s beautiful. Operatic.”
Together, they promise a bigger and weirder performance than ever before!
